It’s time! Time to get back into the swing of our 3X a week morning Qigong class. I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer and look forward to practicing together again.
The start of a new season is the perfect time to think about your “yi” or intention for the coming weeks. As we say in Qigong, “the mind leads the qi”, so It’s like setting the table for an upcoming feast of good energy. Here’s my intention: to dive even deeper into acceptance of what I’m sensing in my body as I move, and to have lots of patience for what I notice, envisioning a positive outcome. I also intend to practice the new rooting technique I discovered one day while doing a variation of “knocking on the door of life”. It turned a familiar exercise, one I do daily, into something newly fortified and enlivening. I’ll show you what I mean when I see you in class.
Here’s our schedule for September and October:
Qigong at the Millbrook Library: Free, live and online classes two Fridays a month!Friday September 25th; Fridays October 9th and 23rd,10-11 AM. Please register atMillbrooklibrary.org; this adds you to the library’s weekly reminder email. The library will send you the Zoom link: it is NOT the same link I use for my Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday Zoom classes.
Qigong for Autumn, Innisfree Gardens, October 3, I PM. Qigong at Innisfree in October is particularly spectacular. The weather is cool, the leaves are rustling, and the energy of Autum is all around us. Exercises to encourage flexibility in the upper back, chest, and shoulders and spine will strengthen respiration and help build immunity. The beautiful “Flying Crane” movements will train balance skills and leg strength, while bringing a sense of inspiration and perspective. Please register at Innisfreegarden.org.
