Last week at the Millbrook Library, I taught the first in-person class after my August break. The energy in the room was so bright and positive! It felt great to be back moving together as a group, relaxing, breathing, letting go of our worries, and circulating the energy that keeps us strong, healthy, and flexible. It’s very reassuring to be reminded of how well Qigong helps us keep our acts together, as life continues to be “life-y.”
This Tuesday our online Qigong classes will resume, and I can’t wait to see you all. Here are a few things I’ll share over the next weeks and months. First, I’ve found a teacher who studied directly with Lin Housheng, the creator of the Shibashi 18 form, and I am taking an in-depth training with him. There are many layers to these simple, beautiful movements and this training is helping me understand why, exactly, it works so well, feels so good, and is one of the most widely practiced TaiQi/Qigong forms in the world.
I’ll be presenting a few in-person events, too: One at the Hotchkiss Library in Sharon CT on October 4 (Qigong for Autumn), and later in the month at Innisfree Gardens (date to be confirmed). I’m also returning this autumn to the Vassar Lifelong Learning Institute, to teach the Shibashi 18 form. It is an online course beginning October 28 and running for the following three Tuesdays, 11:30 -1. And finally, our bi-monthly, in-person/Zoom Millbrook Library classes continue to thrive. See below for info.
For those of you who are new subscribers, here are a few reminders. First, feel free to drop in and take my Zoom classes whenever you like. They are beginner friendly and require no commitment (other than to yourself, since the more often you practice, the better you will be able to feel the energy!). Classes are donation based; there is info about that on my website homepage. For those of you who would like to purchase a video copy of a class, I am happy to send it to you for a donation of $10.oo. Please, everyone be sure to check this newsletter each Monday for schedule updates, announcements, and class cancellations should they occur.
Happy Qi, hope to see you online this Tuesday!
