Late Summer Presence

Accupressure Point Pericardium 8 - Sanctuary for the Heart. Calms the Spirit

Hi Friends!

I hope you’re all enjoying these end- of- August days. I’ve had a fruitful and restful summer, and look forward to seeing you again soon. (Class schedule at end of this letter.)

For some of us, myself included, late August can be a slightly unsettling time. Summer is slowly mellowing into autumn and we can feel the changes. By being mindfully present and soaking up every subtle vibration of this beautiful, transitional time of year, we can fully embrace and benefit from the vitality and nourishment of the season.

One way to stay present, rather than anticipating or even worrying about the coming shifts to your life and schedules, is to practice self-acupressure. Simply choose a point, any point will do. Press on it, take deep breaths for about two minutes. Sense that by doing so you are opening the flow of vitality, renewal, and nourishment within. During times of transition between seasons-- or during any transitional time-- acupressure helps to settle the spirit and ground us in the present: always the most powerful, healing, peaceful place to be.
